Description

Farrow's collar sensors track vital signs and behavior patterns in cattle and pigs, flagging early signs of illness or distress days before symptoms are visible to a farmhand, cutting mortality and antibiotic overuse. In use across 15 mid-size farms.

Problem

By the time livestock illness is visible to the eye, the animal has often already been sick for days, and antibiotics are frequently used preventatively as a result.

Solution

Low-power wearable sensors reading vitals and movement patterns, with a model trained to flag deviation from an individual animal's own baseline.

Target market

Mid-to-large livestock farms and the veterinary co-ops that serve them.

Business model

Hardware sold at cost, monthly per-animal monitoring subscription.

Catching illness before it's visible is the whole game in livestock health. Real results here.
