Privacy Policy

• Account information: email, username, display name, account type, and profile details you add.
• Project and listing content you submit, including any patent, domain, or business details.
• Messages between you and other users, and any files you attach to them.
• Usage data: pages viewed, projects viewed, and similar interaction data.
• Payment data for sparks purchases, handled by our payment provider, Paddle: we receive confirmation of a completed purchase, not your card details.

To operate the platform: creating and securing your account, showing you relevant projects, delivering messages and notifications, processing sparks purchases, moderating reported content, and improving the product. We don't sell your personal data.

We use a small set of processors to run Torches, each bound by their own data-processing terms:

• Supabase: database, authentication, and file storage.
• Cloudflare: hosting, CDN, and file storage.
• Resend: transactional email (confirmations, notifications).
• Paddle: payment processing for sparks purchases, as our Merchant of Record.

We don't share your data with anyone else except when required by law, or to investigate abuse reported on the platform.

Messages between Investors and Innovators are private between the participants, with one exception: a reported message and the conversation it appears in becomes visible to Torches admins, for the purpose of investigating that report.

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain records (for example, transaction records for tax or legal purposes).

You can view, export, or delete your data at any time from Settings / Privacy. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to correct inaccurate data or object to certain processing: contact us via the Help Center to exercise them.

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and secure your session. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Torches is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data from minors.

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date.
