Description
Fernblade combines a custom multispectral drone payload with a vision model trained on over 2 million labeled crop images to map disease, water stress, and nutrient deficiency at the individual-plant level across a farm, not just a blurry field-wide average. Three growing seasons of field validation across soy and corn.
Problem
Existing satellite and drone imagery products give field-level averages, which miss the early, localized signs of disease or stress that actually matter for intervention.
Solution
A patented multispectral sensor array paired with a vision model fine-tuned for per-plant classification, delivering a prescription map an existing sprayer rig can act on directly.
Target market
Mid-to-large row-crop farms and the agronomy co-ops that service them.
Business model
Per-acre-per-season service fee, plus hardware sold at cost to seed the network.

The patent on the sensor array is a real moat here, not just a checkbox.
